Pre-book, do not turn up and pay

Walk-up and drive-up rates on the on-site car parks are steep, with figures quoted up to around £67 a day and roughly £469 for a 7-day walk-up stay. Pre-booked long-stay and off-airport providers such as Airparks and APH start from roughly £3.50 to £7 per day when booked ahead, a large saving. If you are driving to the airport, book your space in advance rather than paying at the gate.

Car Park 1 is the closest, a covered multi-storey about 1 minute from the terminal on foot, which suits a short stay if you pre-book. For longer trips the off-airport long-stay options are far better value.

Access note for 2026

HS2 and related roadworks affect the M42 Junction 6 approach through 2026, so the airport advises allowing extra travel time when you drive in.

Just dropping someone off?

If you only need a few minutes, you do not need a car park at all. Birmingham still offers a free drop-off, up to 10 minutes in the Drop Off car park, and a kerbside Premium Set Down at about £7 for the first 15 minutes. See the drop-off and pick-up page for the details, or the public transport page if you would rather not drive at all.
